"Students
will demonstrate knowledge and understandings of:
how
and why people view and use resources differently and
the consequences of this.
Students
could demonstrate such knowledge and understandings when
they:
identify
different values people may attach to a resource (e.g.,
aesthetic, industrial, spiritual, and recreational);
describe
different ways in which different cultural groups may
use the same resource;
explain
why people's views about a resource and their uses of
it may change over time (e.g., because of technological
change, depletion of the resource, legislation);
explain
how opportunities and limitations may arise when resources
are viewed or used in new and different ways."
