*	The first farmed and reseeded scallops began influencing the Nelson region catch in the late 1980s.
	The Nelson region fishery covers the Tasman and Golden Bays, and Marlborough Sounds. This fishery became known as the Southern Scallop Fishery and in 1992 began to be managed under the Quota Management System.
